This class is held every Thursday at 6pm. Wear anything that you can comfortably workout in. We are working on having child care available, and will amend this post as soon as we do.

Sword Class
The study of the sword is pivotal to the understanding of melee combat.

All firearms courses have base costs and prerequisites. Details will be posted for specific classes which may be found on the monthly calendar.

Basic Firearms Safety
The basic firearms safety course teaches all the fundamental skills for safely owning and handling a pistol. In addition, proper stance, firearm control, aiming, and basic firearm operation will be covered.

Upon completion of the course, students may choose to schedule time to attend the range to complete the NRA Basic Pistol Course

Registration for ALL firearms classes must be completed one week prior to class date. Your registration is not complete until your balance is paid.

Range Time:
Upon completion of the Basic Firearm Safety course, students may schedule range time. At the conclusion of this time, students will have completed the entire NRA Basic Pistol curriculum and will be awarded a certificate (assuming they have demonstrated proper and safe usage of firearms). This meets the minimum basic training requirements to be issued a CCW permit in the state of Colorado.

Registration for ALL firearms classes must be completed one week prior to class date. Your registration is not complete until your balance is paid.

Sept 19th will be at The Shootist: 2980 S Galapago St. Englewood CO 80110.

Sept 20th will be at Kelsey Creek Range, which can be a bit tricky to find. We’re scheduled there on Saturdays because the indoor range is packed.

Directions:

*Take US Highway 285 (Hampden Ave.) South, towards the mountains.

*Drive about 25 miles to Pine Junction (there’s not really a sign so watch for the traffic light and the street name). It was the only traffic light on HW 285 when I drove it.

*There is one stop light located at the intersection of Highway 285 (Hampden) and Pine Valley Road (County Road 126).

*Turn left at this light and take Jefferson County Road 126 (Pine Valley Road) 14.8 miles.

*Close to the 14.8 mile point, you will be going down a hill. Take your first right at the bottom of the hill. There is no permanent marking on the road.

*There’s a second spot, not as good or as safe as the first if you continue on and take your second right instead of the first. We’ll be off to the first right.

*If you reach the scenic overlook, you’ve gone to far.

There is no cell phone reception at Kelsey Creek Range, so I suggest carpooling, or registering for the Friday morning class.
